Welcome to the Honey-Barrel community. We’re genuinely excited that you found your way here. Over the past six months, we’ve been building something special — a local, fully open AI day-trading agent designed for curious minds, tinkerers, and anyone who loves exploring new ideas.

Honey-Barrel runs entirely on your machine using Ollama and Hermes, both free and open technologies. Our goal was simple: create a side-hustle tool that helps you analyse and manage day-trading activity on the stock market, while giving you full control, transparency, and the freedom to shape it into whatever you want.

Out of the box, Honey-Barrel comes with a default day-trading strategy and the analytical behaviour of a professional day trader. In our internal testing, it consistently reached around 1.5% daily gain using paper trading — but the real magic is that you can modify, extend, or completely reinvent how it works.

Right now, Honey-Barrel integrates with Alpaca for trade execution. Alpaca is a separate platform, and you’ll need to create your own free account and complete their registration process. We hope to support more providers in future releases.

We know this might sound unusual — an AI trading agent, free, open, and running locally — but that’s exactly the point. Honey-Barrel is yours. If you’re comfortable dedicating a machine for a NASDAQ day-trading session, you can start experimenting immediately, with zero financial risk using paper trading. When you feel confident, you can switch to real trading at your own pace.

We’re providing documentation, dashboards, and tools so you can explore the internals, teach it new strategies, or even break it and fix it again. That’s how great communities grow — through curiosity, creativity, and shared learning.
